LAS VEGAS, Nevada- The DISCOVERY Children’s Museum (DCM) Board of Trustees today announced that it has agreed with the CEO, Melissa Kaiser, to extend the term of her employment agreement through 2026.
“Through the distinguished strategy she has set for DCM and the forward-thinking organization she is building, Melissa has been instrumental in transforming DCM’s culture and business model into a world-class nonprofit organization,” said Boyd Nelson, the Museum’s Board Chair. “Melissa has proven herself to be an innovative leader and a strategic visionary, and the Board of Trustees is confident she is the right individual to lead DISCOVERY Children’s Museum to the next level of success in the future.”
As the CEO of DCM, Mrs. Kaiser is responsible for bringing the Museum’s mission and strategy to life through innovative educational experiences, engaging storytelling, and developing long-term relationships with strategic partners across Southern Nevada to enhance our kids’ lives. Updating and improving the Museum’s educational exhibits and facilities, expanding programming, and increasing the endowment and operating reserves to ensure the Museum’s resilience to serve our region’s children and families for decades to come are the primary focus for Kaiser in the upcoming years.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead further the evolution of this tremendous nonprofit children’s museum, and I look forward to building upon the progress and momentum we’ve developed so far,” said Mrs. Kaiser. “We are in the early stages of new upgrades on programs and exhibits. Together with our Board, our first-class management team, we will continue to create the world’s best play-educational experiences for our young learners in our community.”
