The Great Vegas Recipe

Virtual Cooking Demonstration with Celebrity Chef Martin Yan

**WATCH PROMO VIDEO**

 WHAT:
Join Vegas PBS and celebrity chef Martin Yan of Yan Can Cook for a free, live virtual cooking demonstration. This event is part of The Great Vegas Recipe, a new Vegas PBS digital series, bringing together local culinary students with master chefs in the entertainment capital of the world.

During the virtual cooking demonstration, Chef Yan will create his own spin on two student recipes: Cactus Salad and Aguachiles. The public is invited to download the recipes and cook alongside Chef Yan from their own home kitchens.

The Great Vegas Recipe matches the most talented students from CCSD’s Career and Technical Education’s Culinary Arts Program, with Las Vegas celebrity chefs. The goal is to share some local family recipes and culinary traditions that are rooted in the culture and history of Las Vegas. A James Beard Award winner and public television star, Chef Yan recently announced the opening of his first restaurant in Las Vegas this fall. Chef Yan will choose one of these student’s recipes to feature at his new restaurant M.Y. Asia opening at Horseshoe Las Vegas, the soon-to-be-rebranded Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

The Great Vegas Recipe digital series is a local companion to the new PBS cooking competition The Great American Recipe, which premieres on Friday, June 24 at 9 p.m. on Vegas PBS Channel 10.

This event is made possible with the generous support of Caesars Entertainment and a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
