U.S. Trade Representative Roundtable Opportunity

Trade Questions
When thinking about trade, what concepts come to mind?
Are you familiar with the work that USTR does?
What do you think of the idea of a worker-centric trade agenda? What does that mean to you?
What are the top issues impacting your business’s ability to thrive?
Do you export your goods to overseas markets? If yes, why? If not, why? Have you considered exporting your goods? Have you faced specific barriers in attempting to do so?

TTC-Specific Questions
Do you export to the EU or do business with EU companies? If so, what types of products/services. If not, why not?
How does trade with the EU affect your community and region?
What types of values (e.g. environmental, social, economic, etc.) do Americans share with the EU that you feel are most important?
What types of emerging technology or existing technology are most important for your business and/or your community?
Do you export final products or components, or do you import any components for your own manufacturing?  Do you otherwise do business with companies outside the US?
Have you ever considered or solicited foreign investment in your operations?
Have you availed your business of any U.S. government (e.g. USEACs) export or investment promotion services?  If not, why not?
Have you on their own explored potential export, import, or investment relationships with EU or other foreign partners?
Standards/regulations: If any companies are in fact exporting to the EU, has it been challenging to navigate EU regulations or standards?
