DISCOVERY Children’s Museum Celebrates Juneteenth

Join  DISCOVERY Children’s Museum for our annual Juneteenth Celebration as we honor this important date in our country’s history. We will kick off the event with a flag-raising ceremony at 10 am followed by a special dance performance from Culture Shock, plus be sure to stick around for our ongoing special artwork/workshop programming throughout the day.

It was on that day in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, that slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

Governor Sisolak and Councilman Crear will be participating in the ceremony along with a dance performance by Culture Shock
